Moment Of Glory

So this is my moment of glory, being in the newspaper. On Monday a girl that I work with asked me if she could take a picture of me, I said, "No, I don't like my hair today." Then she pleaded with me then I gave in and afterwards she told me that it was going to be in the school newspaper!!! I got excited, but at the same time worried. I didn't know what picture they'd be using so I just hoped that I looked somewhat decent. And I'm pleased with the picture. So I thought I'd share my small moment of glory...
Underneath the photo; there is, a small description about me and what I'm doing. If it's not legible for some this is what it says, "Freshman Alyssa Grossen, a nursing major from Ladera Ranch, Calif., takes a break from studying to re-pot a flower to take home to her apartment. Small potted flowers brighten a room and are easy for students to take care of.

MORE SNOW!!!!

OK, So this is a really late post. This great event happened last Sunday and I'm just now posting it. Anyways, so the weather on Sunday was pretty intense. It rained all morning, I totally loved it. Then as it got toward the evening and it got colder, a slight snowfall started. Now for those of us living in St.George, we thought it was cool but knew it wasn't going to stick. But as the night went on, it started to snow even harder! It was amazing! I was in heaven! I went outside and jumped up and down in excitement. My roommates laughed at me, they thought I was hilarious because I was so excited. Anyways, the snow ended up sticking, and we got about 2-3 inches total! Here are some pictures that I started taking when it first started snowing till it stopped... Oh and all these pictures were taken right outside my apartment that is upstairs...I didn't want to get out in the snow-It would've ruined my hair.lol.

This is the last picture I took before I went to bed, because it stopped snowing I didn't want to stay up super late. Actually a friend of mine, Gary, came over and we made cookies and watched "Testaments." Then we decided it was pretty late so he left and I went to bed.

When I woke up, to my suprise there was still snow outside!!! It didn't melt overnight!!!!

As I was on my way to class with my roommate, I had her take a picture of me in the snow with a look of joy on my face. lol. She laughed, because she loved the look on my face. She said I looked so happy because it snowed.

Bonfire!!!!!

On friday night, a bunch of friends and I went out to the Arizona strip for a bonfire. we had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures... This is how the fire first started out...pretty sad.
Still waiting... oh and if you look closely you can see the rib cage of an animal that the boys put in there...sick!!!

Finally getting somewhere...it probably took an hour for the boys to get a real fire.

A few friends of mine and two boys who jumped in the picture at the last minute.lol.

Close up with Katie (on the left) who I just became really good friends with. And Megan on my right who I met last semester. I love these girl's! Oh and congratulations to Katie who got the lead part in the school's upcoming play! yay!

And this is a video of something the boys like to do...they put one of those mini camping propane tanks in the fire, the rest of us stand back pretty far. We wait for it to explode or something then someone shoots it with a gun then it blows up and the fire gets huge then goes back to it's original size. It was scary the first time but then rather exciting the second time. check out what I'm talking about below...
